Raw power from the world's sugar superpower

In addition to being the world's top producer of ethanol and sugar, Brazil accounts for roughly 48% of global sugar exports and is the world's greatest producer of sugarcane. ICUMSA — the International Commission for Uniform Methods of Sugar Analysis — grades this trade, and the 600–1200 range is where the raw business lives.

ICUMSA 600–1200 is made from 100% raw cane after its first crystallization. The sugar is brownish in hue and thicker than white sugar, retaining natural molasses character. This is VHP territory — the Brazilian invention with a minimum sucrose content of 99.4% that transformed the global raw sugar trade and feeds standalone refineries on every continent.

Beyond light and dark, brown sugar spans many varieties; our IC 800/1200 is produced and documented to EU specification standards and/or international specification standards, fit for human consumption.

How it ships

Raw sugar ICUMSA 800–1200 moves as bulk cargo in bulk vessels only — lots of 12,500, 25,000 or 50,000 MT loaded direct from terminal silos — or containerized in 1–2 MT big bags, max 27 MT per 20 ft unit, for smaller refiners and industrial users. Inspection by SGS at the loading port is included at our cost.
